Spring Rolls

Ingredients: (FOR THE COVERING)
  • 1 cup maida
  • 2 tspn maida, mix water to a paste
  • 1/4 tspn baking powder
  • 2 tspn oil
  • Oil for deep frying
Ingredients: (FOR THE FILLING)
  1. 500 gms cabbage
  2. 250 gms carrot
  3. 200 gms capsicum
  4. 1 bunch of spring onion 
  5. 1/2 tspn aginomoto
  6. 1/2 cup soya sauce
  7. 2 tspn sugar
  8. 2 tspn chilli sauce
  9. 1 tblspn oil
  10. Salt to taste
  1. The outer covering can be prepared using maida. Mix maida, salt, baking powder, oil and using water knead into dough.
  2. Divide the dough into balls and roll out each one into a thin circle .
  3. Roast each circle for a minute or two let it not become crisp.
  4. Cut cabbage, capsicum and onion finely, grate carrot. 
  5. Heat oil, add all the vegetablesand aginomoto and mix well. Add salt, sugar, soya sauce and chilli sauce and cook for 3 min on high flame. Remove and let it cool.
  6. Fill the vegetables mixture on the wantan sheet or the maida and roll it tightly.
  7. Seal the edges using the maida paste.
  8. Heat the oil in a wok and deep fry them till golden brown and crisp.
  9. Remove on the kitchen towel and cut each roll into three pieces and serve hot. :-)
